🎁 Marketing Is Getting An Early "Shipmas" Present From OpenAI

OpenAI kicks off their 12 days of updates, creating 100+ video ads just got easier, and shopping is changing - plus 5 tools you need to test

Welcome, night owls. 🌙

The AI marketing landscape never sleeps, and neither do the opportunities. While most marketers are dreaming, we're here catching the latest breakthroughs that'll shape your tomorrow.

Hope everyone's stuffed and happy after Thanksgiving! We skipped last week's edition, but we're back with some big updates.

What's brewing tonight:

  • OpenAI's 12 days of “Shipmas” (that means new models!!)

  • How we're creating 100+ ad creatives monthly using AI

  • Perplexity just made shopping way more interesting

  • 6 posts worth your late-night read

  • 5 AI tools I’m testing and found interesting

Let’s dive in.

p.s., if you find this valuable, I would greatly appreciate sharing with a friend or two. I always give everything I know away for free, and want as many marketers to be aware of what’s possible :)

🎄 OpenAI's 12 Days of Christmas Kicks Off With o1 Release

The Rundown: Day 1/12 of OpenAI's holiday announcements just dropped: o1 is officially out of preview with major upgrades, plus a brand new Pro tier if you're feeling fancy. And we've still got 11 more days of surprises coming.

The Details:

  • o1 is now available to Plus users ($20/month)

  • New model is faster and better at coding, math, and writing

  • You can now upload images and get detailed analysis

  • It's 34% better at handling tough, real-world problems

  • Responses are more concise and faster than the preview version

  • New Pro tier ($200/month) unlocks "even smarter" mode for complex tasks

  • Plus and Team users get access today

  • Enterprise and Education users get access next week

  • 11 more days of feature launches on the way

Why marketers should care: I'll be testing out the $200/mo plan this week to see if it's actually worth the upgrade for creative tasks (though honestly, I doubt it'll be that much better than the Plus plan for most marketing work). But here's what's actually exciting - we've got 11 more days of announcements coming. Next week's newsletter will probably be a deep dive into all these updates and exactly how you can use them in your marketing. Stay tuned!

🔮 2025 Advertising Playbook: How to Create 100+ Video Ad Creatives Monthly (Without Losing Your Mind)

The rundown: Creative strategist Dara Denney dropped some truth about advertising in 2025: brands need creative VOLUME to stay competitive. Well, I'm literally building an AI system right now where we will create 100s of video ads for my friend's brand Popfly, and I'll show you exactly how we're doing it. This is an example of the quality to expect, fyi. I bet you can’t even tell where it’s AI-generated! Haha.

The details:

  • Upload all your content (b-roll, product shots, UGC) to Recharm. It automatically tags everything and breaks down your videos into perfect ad-sized clips

  • Train an AI (I personally like Google AI Studio) to write your ad scripts based on what's working and what competitors are testing - you need at least 25 fresh scripts per week

  • Your editor grabs the script and gets to work:

    • Uses ElevenLabs to create the voiceover

    • Pulls the right clips from your Recharm library

    • Creates any extra AI UGC needed with Arcads

  • Creative strategist reviews and ships it

  • One thing: with 50+ ads weekly, you can't do many revisions. Lock in those brand guidelines early

Why marketers should care: Since iOS 14 dropped, creative testing has become everything in paid social. Your targeting options got limited, so now your creative has to do the heavy lifting. But here's the thing - you can't just test 2-3 ads anymore and call it a day. You need volume to find winners, and you need it consistently. That's where this AI workflow comes in. It's not about replacing your creative team or making generic content. It's about giving them the tools to test more concepts, more angles, and more hooks without losing their minds trying to manually create 100+ ads every month.

I know a lot of people are interested in hiring me to create this system for them, and I’d love to help you. It’s a one-time investment of $10k and I only have availability for 5 more brands in 2025.

🌐🛍️ The Death of Website Shopping?

The Rundown: Perplexity just rolled out direct purchasing within their AI search platform. No more clicking through to websites - you can research, compare, ask questions, and buy all in one spot.

The Details:

  • Perplexity now lets you complete purchases directly within their AI search interface

  • Stores your payment info across all retailers (just like Amazon)

  • Offers 2-3 day shipping on most items - yep, Amazon Prime speed

  • You can read reviews, compare products, and ask specific questions all in one conversation

  • No more tab hopping between review sites, blogs, and shopping carts

  • Complete transactions without ever leaving the search experience

Why marketers should care: Websites might not be your main sales channel much longer. We've already seen this shift with Instagram/Meta and TikTok Shop, and now AI platforms are joining the party. But this feels different - Perplexity isn't just another shopping platform, it's potentially the first real Amazon competitor we've seen in a while. They're matching Amazon on the two things customers care about most: fast shipping and saved payment info. In three years, I bet less than 50% of purchases will happen on brand websites. That's huge. It means you need to start thinking about AI SEO now (I wrote about this last month). Your content needs to be structured so AI can easily find and recommend your products.

🛠️ Tools I'm Testing

PoppyAI
Been playing with this one for content research and honestly, it's way more powerful than regular ChatGPT. You can throw any type of content at it (images, YouTube videos, TikToks, blogs, PDFs) and have an actual conversation about them. Perfect for doing deep content analysis or competitive research without switching between 20 tabs. Here’s my overview of the tool

ElevenLabs
This isn't just another text-to-speech tool. I'm building something cool - a personal brainstorm buddy that knows all my frameworks for viral content. Think of it as having a mini-me that's always ready to bounce around content ideas. And it’s better than writing, I can actually talk to it. Will keep you posted on how this experiment goes. Here’s how to build one yourself

Roster
Found this marketplace for content creators and it's solving a real pain point. Instead of digging through Upwork or asking for referrals, you can find pre-vetted editors, creative strategists, and producers all in one spot. Testing this out for scaling our content operation.

Plot.so
Just discovered this one and it's giving PoppyAI vibes. Going to test both side by side and let you know which one actually delivers better results for content research and analysis. Stay tuned.

Arcads
These folks just keep shipping features like crazy. If you're looking to create AI UGC that actually converts, this is becoming the go-to tool. They're clearly listening to what advertisers actually need.

That’s everything for this week.

If you found these insights valuable, I would greatly appreciate you sending to a friend. Just forward this to someone who may find it valuable :)

See you next week, night owls.
